The map below is a sample
of the Cockermouth map you will receive. It has the start point shown (triangle)
and a number of random control points (circles). There will be TEN control
points spread out over the map so that an optimum route visiting them all will
cover approximately 10km. You return to the starting point to complete the run
and to be timed in.
How would you plan your route to visit the five circles? When you get the map
for the race you will need to take a little while just to plan your route
through the ten check points..... you can then 'leg it' as fast as you like once
you have a plan!
The control points will have an electronic control box at the feature where you
register your visit using your ecard. The control boxes will be placed close to
a red and white cloth marker making identification easy, allowing you to 'punch'
quickly and to continue to the next control.
